Renaissance Life & Health is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our growing team here in Indianapolis, IN!

The Operations Account Manager at Renaissance will provide customer-focused leadership of operational account management responsibilities for assigned key customers.

Candidates must have prior Insurance background.

What will be required of this individual?

  • Build, expand, and solidify relationships with existing clients at all levels within the company
  • Provide outstanding service to existing client base by answering product and service questions in a timely and efficient manner
  • Recommend information about other products and services for additional organic sales growth
  • Is the escalation point for operational issues with each account as they may arise; facilitates resolution through various internal teams
  • Responsible to meet and exceed customer’s needs by following up with customers, ensuring issues are resolved and customers are satisfied
  • Responsible to ensure SLAs are being met and to identify challenges to the manager if/when SLAs are at risk
  • Delegate items when appropriate to the internal staff to ensure all client deliverables are met timely
  • Facilitate minor claims, enrollment and billing resolution
  • Oversee accurate and timely policy and benefit plan implementation from beginning to end
  • Oversee the process of initial enrollment submissions, change requests, and terminations
  • Review employer applications, policies, summary plan descriptions for accuracy
  • Track and manage all activity on accounts
  • Ensure Overall Client satisfaction by proactively managing and anticipating the day to day needs of clients through regular phone contact and occasional clients visits
  • Establish a Client Service Plan (per company guidelines) with each client based on mutual goals and objectives and maintain a monthly progress report of Service Plan activities for management review
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with vendors, as well as internal staff
  • Manage implementation of all carrier or plan changes including verifying plan benefits sold, rates, proper paperwork submission, and coverage verification
  • Support clients in attaining compliance with governmental requirements by staying informed of new legislation and participating in available training
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What must you possess to qualify?

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years' experience of employee benefits account management, employee benefits assistance and/or benefits customer service experience required. Experience with an agency, health insurance carrier, PEO, or similar preferred
  • Strong Project management skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel in particular) and demonstrated ability to learn new software systems
  • Life & Health License (Required) or must obtain within first 90 days of employment
