We are looking for a Junior Paymaster (New Mexico) that will be the primary service provider. EP payroll clients evaluate our service not only on the merit of the products we provide, but also in large part on the relationship they have with their paymaster. The Junior Paymaster (New Mexico) should calculate, prepare and ensure delivery of the production payroll in accordance with client requests and EP policies, procedures, and standards. It is paramount to EP’s success that EP paymasters possess excellent client communication skills, solid skills in utilizing EP’s payroll programs including entry programs, as well as, report and audit utilities. The Junior Paymaster (New Mexico) should develop a basic understanding of EP policies and procedures and have a strong working knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, as well as a general understanding of union concepts and fringe calculations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Calculate, audit and input above and below the line payroll in accordance with client, employee, union, state and federal requirements. 
• Process payroll timely, staying in constant communication with the client to be aligned on expectations.
• Establish and maintain complete and accurate files of each production; file project documents electronically in Show Folders.
• Gain basic knowledge of state, federal and workers compensation statutory requirements.
• Learn EP policies and procedures.
• Ability to seek assistance where required; escalate potential “issues” to appropriate manager.
• Change voicemail daily
• Employee accountability – i.e. no “negative” talk; accuracy, turnaround, client service, etc.
• Attend training classes, gain basic knowledge of Los Angeles entertainment contracts, utilize Halogen Training Modules, Lynda.com, etc. on a regular basis to gain/reinforce knowledge of payroll contracts and EP policies.
• Provide employee earnings and analysis where requested, run Project Queries, run BIT (as applicable). 
• Contact clients when shows are assigned/reassigned (both existing and new manager).
• Be proficient in SmartTime and PSG.
• Ensure all hand off instructions are clear to the designated backup on the team; always communicate backup information to the client. 
• When serving as backup, contact each client and communicate coverage for the day.
• Keep project info in SalesForce up-to-date to include payroll schedule and projected timecards, etc.
• Ensure weekly adjustments completed by end of week, otherwise escalate to manager; review/validate completed adjustments and communicate to client.
• When available, help the team/COE wherever needed; check team emails for coverage.
• Ensure compliance with document retention and processes (I-9s, etc.)
• Submit HTG rules as needed to Ask Contracts.

• Distribution of articles including assigned Lynda.com classes.
• Data/System classes.
• Classes on wage and hours laws, including exempt/non-exempt in-depth coverage.
• Extensive worksheets—combined with data entry: hand-break and key time cards in hours-to-gross.
• Training on Show Folder-working with a training manager to print a work order and set up a show folder, print a work order from another, more experienced, paymaster’s desk. The Training Manager acts as the client and the trainee puts together a Show Folder. Compare to the assigned paymaster’s actual Show Folder at the conclusion. 
• All payroll edits reviewed by Training Manager prior to being sent to client.
