Title: HR Generalist

Location: San Francisco, CA 94118

Duration: 6 Months – high possibility of extension

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

 

 Requirements:

  • At least one-year HR or education background
  • REQUIRED experience with PeopleSoft
  • Should have experience in full onboarding - document management, running BI, working with BI vendors, familiar with reviewing health screenings/immunization records, working with new hires, offer letter writing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Self-starter/well organized
  • The HR Generalist will apply their knowledge, skills and abilities of the Human Resources field, to complete tasks and assignments for the employment and benefits function that ranging in complexity.  
  • The professional will work independently while collaborating with others of the Recruitment, Benefits, and Compensation team as needed for additional expertise or guidance to meet required deadlines.
  • The Human Resources Department supports the planning, developing, and maintenance of human capitol within the organization to support strategic initiatives.

Job Requirements

KEY Responsibilities

  • Manages the onboarding process in PeopleSoft, following the Recruitment cycle
  • Tier 1 Support for New/ Transferring Employees; Department Managers/Assistants
  • Performs tasks in various modules of PeopleSoft: Work Experience, Position Management, Licensure/Certification
  • Generates New Hire/Transfer offer Letter via PeopleSoft; applies additional language as needed per case
  • New Hire/Transfer Case Review; application of University policies and procedures as it relates to the circumstances of the action
  • Analyze/Interpret Criteria applicable to the Case of the New Hire/Transfer
    (Work Experience Calculation/Seniority Date Changes)
  • Responsible for launching various integration packages for onboarding/transfers
  • Employment Action Case (Position Changes: Home Department/Percentage, Funding Changes, Extensions, Reports to Changes, Etc.)
  • Performs Special Project (ongoing or as assigned)
  • Successfully manages the onboarding process within the system 
    Understands system logic designed, and basic PeopleSoft logic
  • Communicates clearly over phone/email; understands issue provides adequate response
  • Understands module requirements and determines requirements needed for the case (hire/transfer)
  • Critical review of type of hire/transfer to ensure offer letter details are accurate
    Letters submitted on or before the hire/transfer date
  • Applies UC Policies/Procedures to each case; refers to HR Operations Manager for assistance
  • Reviews accuracy of requests, clarifies as need to ensure compliance of policies
  • Critical review of type of hire/transfer to ensure proper onboarding packages applied
  • Reviews accuracy of requests, clarifies as need to ensure compliance of policies
  • Launches timely Docusign Forms; follows up/closes out promptly
    -Explains to the New Hire/Transfer the meaning/impact there signature or action has, assist in the decision process

Experience Required /Preferred

- Prior HR systems experience, preferably PeopleSoft/TAM Req

- Prior HR onboarding experience Req

- MS (Word/Excel), Adobe experience Req

- Prior Human Resources experience; and/or combination of education/experience Req

- Prior Customer Service Experience Req

- Excellent Verbal/Written communication skills Req

- Prior document management experience Req

- Prior project management experience Req
