A Teller is responsible for building relationship with clients and prospects in order to identify financial needs and to maximize sales opportunities. These relationships will be built through tele-consulting and actively listening to a client to determine their financial need and provide a solution. Responsible for day to day accurate and efficient processing and recording of routine transactions for bank clients including cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, processing loan payments and money transfers. Tellers are trained to promote and advise on the bank's products and services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work daily with clients to maximize sales opportunities and to attain referral goals set forth in the Bank's sales and referral program.

  • Work night bags

  • Cash checks

  • Issue Cashiers’ Checks

  • Balances Teller drawer 

  • Accept deposits

  • Complete change orders

  • Issue cash advances on credit cards

  • Handle client account inquires

  • Complete CTR reports

  • Cash Series EE Bonds

  • Observe robbery procedures and understand use of bait money

  • Accept loan payments

Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Two plus years teller experience required; Sales and customer service experience desired.

  • Technical Skills-learns new technical skills easily; proficient in use PC and associated software.

  • Customer Service-strong customer service skills, responds promptly, meeting commitments
