Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

A leading Delivery and Transportation company seeks a Customer Service Representative. This position will provide traditional track and trace functions for the customer and will provide timely and proactive updates to the customer to minimize inbound phone volume. This position will work closely with the Dispatchers to ensure timely and accurate information is being provided to the customer and will have primary responsibility within the station to answer and respond to all phone and computer-generated delivery concerns.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Daily quoting, management and coordination of shipments

• Data Entry of Customer Orders

• Track and trace all shipments

• Ensure updates are sent to Customers daily

• Work closely with Dispatchers to ensure on time arrival

• Update OS (operating system) with Driver updates

• Update and maintain logistics software

• Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement appropriate solutions

• Answer and resolve billing questions when needed

• Daily communications with customers on relevant issues and resolution

• Any additional duties and/or projects as assigned by the Freight Manager and/or VP of Freight

Job Requirements

• Must have (2) two year’s office and/or customer service experience with heavy phone and email
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Heavy data entry

Team environment; good interpersonal skills required, working alongside colleagues and able to work with limited direct supervision
• Must be organized and able to multi-task 

Transportation and/ or freight experience a plus

• High school diploma or equivalent.
