PLANNER: NAVY SHIP MAINTENANCE


A DIRECT HIRE POSITION w. Benefits


INDUSTRY: SHIP REPAIR


LOCATION: NORFOLK, VA


SUMMARY:


Responsible for Third Party Planning (TPP), analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system requirements; determining workflow, loading of trades. Utilize government and industrial data bases, such as Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Navy Data Environment (NDE), and Naval Ships Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR). Identify the critical path, controlling path, and potential problem areas and find ways of developing risk mitigation.





• Knowledge of Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) requirements (E2E processes)

• Understanding of US Naval Ship Maintenance and Modernization processes

• Knowledge of shipyard industrial processes

• Strong ability to estimate manpower


• Strong understanding of Critical Path Analysis/determination processes and techniques

• Understanding of schedule development, project milestones and ability to meet duration specific requirements of the assigned projects

• Project Risk Management, i.e. Risk Identification, Risk Evaluation and Risk Mitigation

• Strong MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point & Visio), as well as Adobe Pro

• Familiarity with USN Engineering Drawings and technical manuals 

• Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
