The ideal candidate to join our dynamic team environment as the Plant Continuous Improvement Expert will be knowledgeable in the fundamentals of lean manufacturing including reduction of variability, waste elimination, and theory of constraints to drive continuous improvement. Lean Professional needed for a critical contract position in EAST Houston TX.


 This person will lead the charge for lean process governance through the facilitation of Kaizen events at a leading Oil & Gas company.


 


Responsibilities for the Continuous Improvement Expert:

The primary focus of this job is to facilitate Kaizen events and implement and sustain the subsequent recommendations

 

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring compliance and continuous improvement of Enterprise SCM policies, processes and procedures that govern the acquisition of materials and services.

 

Continuous Improvement Facilitator that will have documented success in facilitating and motivating business teams to eliminate waste in their work processes and serve as an internal consultant to provide advice, support, encouragement in establishing and sustaining our Lean/continuous improvement culture

 

Perform data analysis and prepare written reports in order make visible the true nature of problems and opportunities.

 

Develop a detailed root cause analysis for each problem, where each root cause is validated through testing, i.e. the condition or defect can be turned on or off.


Develop countermeasures that could range from basic problem containment to system repair to equipment replacement.


Generate and communicate implementation plans using Gantt charts and work breakdown structures.


Coordinate central Operations & Engineering resources or third parties to staff implementation plans as necessary.

Provide expertise guidance, interpretation and direction to SCM.


Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide guidance and application of all Procedures, Policies, Processes, templates and forms. Requirements for the Continuous Improvement Manager.


Experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting or related
  • Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement certifications
  • Experience leading large teams through Kaizen events
  • Ability to implement change and process improvement through Kaizen events
  • Supply Chain Knowledge or certifications is highly preferred
