Green Key Resources in Rockville, MD is seeking a Communications and Marketing Coordinator. This is a temp to hire opportunity located in Arlington, VA with a non-profit organization. This role will provide support (operational and editorial) to a team. This role will work on a number of projects to include advertising billing, an annual promotions calendar, management of photos and general communications. The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will communicate and work closely with a wide variety of outside customers, industry representatives, public relations agencies and vendors.  The position responsibilities include:

  • Cross-trains on several advertising, production, e-newsletter, e-blast and other publications management responsibilities to serve as a regular staff backup
  • Process paperwork for invoicing print and digital advertising
  • File and maintain copyright paperwork 
  • Processes monthly mailing subscriptions for magazine and update the database as needed
  • Administers new, renewal and complimentary subscription tracking 
  • Maintains back issue inventory and back issue fulfillment 
  • Responds to and fulfills reprint permission requests.
  • Coordinates and maintains photo archives for meetings, leaders and other official photo shoots.
  • Develops organizational systems to track department projects and note changes from year to year
  • Executes fulfillment of business cards requests, state affiliate graphics logo packages and other minor graphics requests
  • Maintains Communications Center storage areas, including off-site materials
  • Contributes draft editorial content for the magazine Proofreads editorial and advertising for the magazine
  • Coordinates contests
  • Coordinates the annual Secret Shopper project
  • Participates in regular magazine team activities, such as graphic-review meetings,
  • brainstorming, etc.
  • Compiles content for annual Promotion Calendar
  • Assists with social media posting for Facebook and Instagram
  • Assists with a variety of editorial-related tasks

       Bachelor’s degree in communications or relevant field required

Three years or more providing operational support to programs and services in a business environment

Demonstrated work experience providing writing and editing support for a wide range of publications, digital media and websites

Demonstrated experience with assigned independent program support responsibilities in addition to operational support for programs and services.

Knowledge of publications and communications production processes, preferred.

Work experience in a member service-oriented or customer service environment preferred

Work experience in minor graphics management /design software (e.g. InDesign and Photoshop), preferred
