Responsible for coaching and development of AVMA LIFE Brokers. Establishes and maintains client and broker relationships and is responsible for managing broker service needs. Activities include sales coaching and consulting, product training, handling broker questions and requests, and coverage review. This position will be responsible for the overall growth and retention of the AVMA LIFE product lines. Required to perform essential functions and meet service standards and best practices developed by Pearl.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works to develop and maintain long-term client relationships with AVMA leadership and brokers. Focuses efforts on under-producing/dormant brokers. Serves as a liaison between client and internal management to address concerns and troubleshoot administrative issues. Keeps client contacts informed regarding available products and services, pricing, and new insurance products and/or promotions.
Responsible for the selection and appointment of new agency partners in strategic areas of the United States, with a focus on emerging market trends, agency profiles and current market share when selecting new partners.
Serves as an advocate with superior product knowledge and the ability to enhance the sales process, leading to greater growth and retention.
Attends client meetings, conferences, workshops, and events, as required.
Follows up with the agent/broker regarding market placement.
Stays current on product, market, and industry knowledge. Serves as a subject matter expert on emerging trends within the life and health insurance industry. Offers guidance and direction for consideration by client and management to obtain market share growth on behalf of the association.
Responsible for development and implementation of in-person and virtual training and meetings for AVMA LIFE brokers.
Provides technical expertise in coordinating the service of new and existing clients through sales, account development, and problem solving in accordance with the objectives and procedures based on Pearl Core Values and Standards. Looks for opportunities to drive operational efficiency within Pearl and to the outside brokers.
Reviews and analyzes sales reports and other data to monitor progress toward company goals. Contributes to sales planning and implements actions to address shortfalls or opportunities to improve sales.

Associates degree in business, marketing or related field preferred, but not required.
5+ years of insurance sales experience or similar experience in a business development or account management role
3+ years’ experience working in the affinity and/or association environment, along with in-depth, comprehensive understanding of Life and Health insurance coverages and rating concepts.
Previous leadership experience highly desired, but not required.
Current Life, Accident and Health insurance license required, or the ability to become licensed.
CIC or similar designation highly desired.
Demonstrated ability of driving results, preferably with independent contractor agents or brokers
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy
Must be detail oriented and organized
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to analyze problems and make decisions based on regulations and procedures in place.
Must be comfortable with internet-based programs as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Able to read and compare policy language and understand coverage language.
Strong interpersonal skills needed to build and maintain strong business relationships with firms, producers and insureds.
