Clearance: Active Secret

Residency Status: US Citizen

Mission of project: The Technical Editor supports an enterprise-level cybersecurity program in organizing and writing required technical and business artifacts per establish standards with respect to order, style, terminology and sequencing. Develops publications and recommends revisions or changes in approaches, scope, format, methods of production, and dissemination. Consults with cybersecurity team leads and subject matter experts to ensure common understanding of publications and related materials to be produced. Selects or recommends use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, illustrations, charts, or storyboards to amplify or clarify publications objectives. Periodically audits and reviews publications to determine whether format or content changes/updates are required. Remains current on new developments in technical writing, editing and publishing, including technological enhancements. Assists in preparing material for technical seminars and forums. May be called upon to assist in technical or business presentations in such meetings and technical symposia.

Responsibilities:

Ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionally
• Ability to work with and address the specific needs of various organizations within and outside the AF while maintaining AF CISO goals/mission
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to include government, military, and contractor personnel
• Experience developing cybersecurity policy and guidance
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, NIST 800-16, and FISMA
• Ability to analyze policy and doctrine and translate what is read into needs statements, requirements, courses of action, etc.
• Strong administrative, organizational, and project management skills
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and time management skills with proven success handling multiple responsibilities and large-scale projects
• Experience supporting DoD programs at staff level, Air Force (HAF, SAF, MAJCOM) preferred
• Interact and communicate concerns and issues with senior leadership and the government

Must Haves:

 -BA/BS in English, communications, publications or related field; Master’s    Degree preferred
• At least two (3) years of experience in as a technical editor

Nice to Have

• Experience working at DoD HQ level environment, AF (Pentagon) experience preferred
