A well-established law firm in the Chicago loop is looking to add a detailed and dynamic Legal Secretary to their team! The Legal Secretary will be responsible for supporting multiple Partners and team members with calendar management, scheduling, and expense reporting. The ideal individual will have litigation experience and thrive in a fast-paced legal support role. The salary for this role is $60-75k commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support for multiple Partners and Associates
  • Edit and proofread all correspondence and legal documents
  • Manage busy calendars, schedule meetings, and maintain agendas
  • Maintain correspondence with clients, outside counsel, and vendors
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare expense reports
  • Open, maintain, and close attorney files in an organized fashion
  • Transcribe correspondence, memos, and legal documents
  • Develop and prepare trial materials, update spreadsheets, and assist with additional projects
  • Additional duties as needed

Requirements of the Legal Secretary:

  • 5-15 years’ experience within litigation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Meticulous attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to problem solve and prioritize
  • Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality
