Our Client in Hudson, OH is looking to fill an opening in their Finance Department. The open position is for an Financial Data Analyst. Our client is a direct-in-home selling, branded consumer product company that provides a patented, professionally installed gutter protection solution which is top rated by Consumer Reports. This company provides the solutions direct to consumers through its captive sales and marketing organization which now operates through 57 office locations in 43 states in the U.S. and Canada, and continues to expand in North America. In-depth knowledge and experience with data query/data management tools and databases (SQL)
In-depth knowledge of and proficiency with business intelligence (Power BI and Tableau), Microsoft Excel, MS Office and financial software applications; NetSuite experience is a plus
Strong quantitative and analytical competency, with hands on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and work independently and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
Focus on quality management, problem solving, and process improvement with a passion to learn and grow
Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with senior management
Proven working experience as a financial analyst in a corporate finance environment; Certified Public Accountant or similar certification is a plus
Proven knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, financial modeling and data gathering
Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting and business environments
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Computer Science or related field required
Duties and responsibilities include:
Assemble and summarize data through data mining, relational database modeling and business intelligence (Power BI, Tableau and SQL Server) from financial and operations databases, to structure sophisticated reports and financial models for decision support
Analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations
Work closely with IT to create and improve reporting and database management
Identify relevant insights and compile analytical reports and forward-thinking forecasts based upon financial trends that enable others to make sound decisions
Increase productivity by improving current methods used in the collection of data, coordinating information requirements, developing automated financial reporting/forecasting tools, and creating standard and ad-hoc reports
Develop analytical tools and dashboards to support planning and forecasting
Evaluate financial status and risks by analyzing actual results in comparison with budgets and forecasts
Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance, identify trends, analyze and interpret data, conduct benchmarking and process analysis, recommend actions to senior management supported by sound financial analysis
Maintain financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics based on key performance indicators (KPI’s)
Consolidate and analyze financial data, taking into account company goals and financial standing, to create budgets and forecasts
Assist in compiling financial performance reports (i.e. Monthly Board of Director packages)
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing finance department goals & objectives
Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function
