Global Chemical Plant in the Greater Baton Rouge area seeks an experienced Plant Maintenance Electrical Engineer to add to our growing team.  Must have a BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in plant maintenance electrical engineering.

Position Overview

As our Plant Maintenance Electrical Engineer, you are responsible to design, maintain and troubleshoot all aspects of our plant’s layout of electrical generation and delivery systems including plants, distribution lines, and electrical stations and substations.  You will report to our Maintenance Manager.

Position Key Areas of Responsibility

·         Oversee production, installation and testing of electrical equipment to conform to applicable codes and regulations

·         Prepare electrical system specifications or drawings

·         Calculate and estimate material, equipment and labor costs for projects involving electrical systems and the use of electrical power

·         Oversee maintenance and capital projects involving or using electrical power

·         Inspect installations to assure reliability and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards

·         Provide quality assurance for ongoing electrical extensive projects

·         Keep current with the latest technical innovations in electrical engineering

·         Prepares on-stream and failure reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends

·         Maintains equipment operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures by ensuring periodic routines are performed to maintain equipment reliability

 

Position Compensation

  • Base Salary of $85K-115K+, depending on experience

Position Qualifications

·         BS degree in Electrical Engineering required

·         Minimum of 5 years of plant maintenance electrical engineering experience

·         Previous experience in an alumina refinery preferred

·         Extensive experience in a continuous operating production plant

·         Must have a solid background in use of engineering software such as CAD and analytical software

·         Have good knowledge of the use of statistical tools, preferable 6 Sigma experience and/or experienced Toyota Production System

·         Must have the ability to recognize and anticipate complex problems and solve them with the overall process in mind and exhibit strong analytical and reasoning skills

·         Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology

·         Capable of maintaining frequent contact with all levels and other units in the organization, contractors, customers, vendors,  to obtain and furnish information and resolve issues

·         Proven ability to manage complex process with competing and changing priorities
