Front Office Assistant

The Front Desk Assistant greets and registers patients, answers multi-line phone, directs incoming calls and perform basic clerical functions in support of clinic operations.





  • Greet incoming patients, family members, clients, etc.
  • Function as “information desk” for various needs for all incoming traffic.
  • Answer multi-line telephone, coordinating and distributing all incoming calls along with assisting callers with record requests and billing information, when appropriate.
  • Perform patient registration.
  • Schedules appointments, coordinates referral appointments with specialists as needed and gives patient/referral physician information.
  • Discharges patients, completing the necessary paperwork and forwarding appropriate documents to the billing department.
  • Prepares packets for various types of company physicals.
  • Copies records, physicals, and other paperwork as required for distribution to appropriate personnel.
  • Orders medical and office supplies as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.



  • High school or equivalent.

  • High school or equivalent.

  • Computer literate.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Working knowledge of health and pharmacy insurance benefits, third party claims processing and network requirements.





  • High stress.

  • Constant patient contact.

  • Potential exposure to illness/disease.
