Our client is a local full-service laboratory practice focused on testing of blood, fluid, and Pharmacogenetics, diagnostics, wellness medicine and comprehensive primary care. They are hiring a Molecular Technology Expert to perform high complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens under general supervision.
The Molecular Technology Expert will be responsible for handling specimens, checking labels, data entry, aliquoting specimens and sorting them and providing general assistance to other technologists.

Maintain diagnostic viability of all specimens and ensure correct patient labeling of all materials.
Review requisitions for completeness, and assure proper collection, identification, labeling, and specimen integrity.
Maintain and follow scheduled preventative maintenance calibrations and coordinate repair of laboratory equipment with the appropriate internal and external service personnel.
Identify and rectify root causes of molecular testing failures and troubleshoot technical issues.
Prepare issue review documents for nonconformance events observed during the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical clinical laboratory testing.
Perform Proficiency Testing in a timely manner and submit results to Supervisors.
Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
Maintain patient privacy and adhere to any applicable HIPAA regulations.
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological sciences, clinical laboratory science or medical technology OR Associates Degree with minimum 3 months’ training with testing sufficient.
Completed a nationally recognized certification examination, or eligible to sit for a nationally recognized certification examination
