PLANT MANAGER

  • Develop plant objectives and priorities in order to achieve corporate goals and operating plan targets.  Deploy these goals and objectives to staff and monitor progress towards achievement of goals.
  • Provide technical and managerial expertise to solve problems, make recommendations, and oversee implementation of improvements; work collaboratively with other functions, such as EH&S, HR, Customer Service, Purchasing and Finance.
  • Support business strategies and objectives.
  • Manage plant activities and spending to optimize profitability and working capital.
  • Create commonality of purpose around safety, environmental, quality, delivery, cost and people.
  • Instill discipline and accountability in administration and execution of site and departmental policies/procedures.
  • Establish and implement performance management development plans for self as well as direct and indirect reports.
  • Develop an injury and incident-free EH&S culture.
  • Provide superior customer focus.
  • Create an engaged and winning organization, building organizational health.
  • Continuously improve plant operations and facility.  Advance operational excellence.
  • Set, communicate and sustain high standards for facility housekeeping / organization.






  • Degree in technical discipline, preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Multi-plant production management experience in related chemical industry. 
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter, energetic, organized, and service-minded.  Able to cope with a wide range of situations.
  • Demonstrated record of successfully leading management staff, setting and communicating standards and expectations and holding employees accountable.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate staff and facilitate change management; as well as ability to influence peers.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements.
  • Pluses include: Union, PSM, Batch processing
