: This role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and securing 3PL carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner for the transportation brokerage.]

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and secure 3PL carriers to move freight in a timely and cost-effective manner, while cultivating strong core carrier relationships. 
  • Maintain continuous communication with trucking carriers and customers to ensure a high quality freight movement process. 
  • Ensure that freight is picked up, transported and delivered on time to meet and/or exceed logistics and transportation client’s expectations. 
  • Ensure all parties are informed of trucking route changes, delays, freight concerns, or other issues as necessary and follow all routing procedures.
  • Schedule pick-up and delivery appointment times for shipments; must have insight into all factors affecting timeframe of the (weather, traffic, miles, service rules, etc.)
  • Maintain and update accurate information in the company’s transportation operating system (TMS). 
  • Find trucking companies that physically move clients’ freight using the company’s proprietary technology. 
  • Conduct cold calling and research available logistics and transportation databases for potential leads. 
  • Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that trucking carrier charges are accurate. 
  • Maintain awareness of logistics operations at all times  
  • Other duties as assigned by the freight brokerage.

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of professional experience. 
  • 1+ year of transportation/logistics experience. 
  • 2+ years of freight carrier sales and/or customer service. 
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Experience using logistics/transportation software (TMW, Freightview, Axon, GetSwift, TruckMate, RMIS,Samsara).
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment within the brokerage.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess a positive attitude and desire to learn the best practices in the transportation/logistics industry.
  • Excellent negotiation skills. 
  • Be able to work and thrive independently in the logistics industry.
  • Be a strong decision-maker.

 

 

Compensation Details: This position offers a competitive base salary.
