Travel Agent / Corporate / Onsite
Job Summary:
The Corporate Travel Agent is responsible for handling all duties required to making travel arrangements for employees, groups, guests and other stakeholders. This position will facilitate professional, accurate and cost-effective travel arrangements within company travel guidelines and policies. The incumbent needs to be an individual with an exceptional commitment to customer service, accuracy and self-reliance with a strong background on groups and SABRE
Reporting Relationships
This job reports to: Manager, Travel.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating the Company’s travel needs in accordance with the Company’s policy;
Schedule flight, hotel, and car accommodations for traveling employees.
Research travel options (lowest logistical airfares, times, routing, etc.) and available inventory, suggest alternative dates/services and present applicable information for appropriate management approval in compliance with company travel policy;
- Research and resolve traveler inquiries (complaints, accounting issues, fare discrepancies, vendor issues, and hotel no-shows, bumping from flights
- Manage compliance with Company travel and expense policy and report out-of-policy requests to ensure compliance;
- Coordinate with appropriate departments to make travel arrangements for large company-sponsored functions, such as trade shows, training and other corporate events that require group travel
- Maintain appropriate files, databases, and travel related information;
Build solid rapport with company employees by providing prompt, courteous, and friendly service;
- Evaluate overall travel program and make recommendations to improve efficiencies and cost effectiveness;
- Educate employees on reducing travel expenses, as required;
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned;
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
- Three or more years’ experience working in a fast paced corporate travel or travel agency environment, making domestic and international travel arrangements for individuals are groups.
- Knowledge of ARC (Airline Reporting Corporation) policies/requirements in order to follow refund, void, EVT (Electronic Travel Voucher) and exchange procedures;
- Thorough understanding of Interline Agreements (formal agreements between airlines that govern ticket reimbursement, baggage transfers, etc.);
- Knowledge of IATA (International Air Transport Association) code assignments, international tariff rules, international carriers, code shares, and international split ticketing;
- Online booking tool experience with Concur
- Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and reducing travel expenses;
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple travel requests concurrently and process a large quantity of transactions per month;
- Excellent communication, time management, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills;
- Ability to work with a variety of levels of management and employees. Goal to provide superior travel service, but within the corporate guidelines and policy;
- Must be results oriented with a positive "can do" attitude and a sense of urgency to get things done; A self-starter who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done, with minimal support and direction;
- Sabre experience required.
- Computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint a plus;
Education:
High School diploma or GED is required.
