The incumbent in this position is responsible for the design, coordination and supervision of land development projects including commercial sites, planned unit developments (PUD), neighborhood beautification projects and many others. The individual utilizes his or her knowledge of Civil Engineering in the areas of grading, erosion and sedimentation control, minor roadway/street design, gravity sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewers, stormwater management facilities, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, cost estimating, and associated permitting for all assigned work. The incumbent supervises the work of other civil engineers and consultants, conducts design reviews, prepares technical reports and specifications, communicates effectively with the team and prepares assignment of workflows. This position reports to the Planning & Development Director or designee and is an exempt position.
Coordinates and supervises the development of paving and drainage, and water and sewer plans for a wide variety of land development projects using established engineering standards and guidelines and Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF) construction policies.
Prepares and/or reviews scope, cost estimates, and specifications for planned facilities. Reviews project budgets, schedules, and specifications.
Participates in the site research and site selection process for any assigned project.
Reviews consultant’s construction plans, design calculations, or cost estimates to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformity to engineering standards and practices.
Reviews development proposed plans to determine potential impact to the community at large. Analyzes environmental impact statements for projects and coordinates with STOF Environmental Resource Management Department (ERMD) and other permitting agencies.
