Description


The ideal candidate will have experience in an engineering firm environment and a strong background in industrial (chemicals and manufacturing) design.  The candidate will have proficiency with electrical and instrumentation design and drafting (e.g., industrial power distribution (medium and low voltage), MCC’s, lighting, fire alarm, raceways, grounding, motors/drives, instrumentation and controls in industrial plant environments. 


 


Responsibilities


  • Development of Single Line Diagrams, MCC layouts, Power Plans, Grounding Plans, Lighting Plans, Cable Tray Design and Layout, Heat Tracing, Hazardous Classification Plans, Control Schematics, Interconnection Diagrams, I/O Diagrams, PLC/Control Panel Drawings, and Conduit/Wire Schedules.
  • Field work to verify existing conditions.
  • Perform lighting foot-candle calculations.
  • Perform conductor and conduit sizing calculations per NEC
  • Perform short circuit calculations.
  • Perform voltage drop calculations.
  • Construction support including RFI’s and contractor submittals
  • Client interface.


Requirements


  • Minimum 8 years of relevant design experience of chemical and manufacturing plant projects including installation methods and materials of construction.
  • Proficiency with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2008 or later.
  • Proficiency with Lighting Calculation Software (Visual, DIALux, or others)
  • Proficiency with AutoCad Plant 3D is a plus.
  • Proficiency with SKM PowerTools is a plus.
  • Experience in industrial plant environments and site safety practices.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
