Valid has an outstanding opportunity for a Treasury Manager based at our office in Lisle, IL.  The Treasury Manager is responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable department, directing the team of 2 individuals (including an Accounts Receivables Specialist and an Accounts Payable Specialist) in the interaction with clients and internal sales representatives to establish payment terms, commercial actions and plan receivables action plans.

What will you do?

  • Evaluate daily accounts receivable reports to identify potential overdue risks, and take decisions about collections and priorities, find and solve root causes for problems, and manage interactions between internal areas and customers to pursue collections on time.
  • Assist the Controller in the preparation of financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, Value Added Statements and its footnotes for external audit; and its footnotes in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for external audit.
  • Interact with external audit team in Brazil in the preparation and clarification of footnotes and treasury policies.
  • Apply in-depth practical experience with managing and analyzing financial data for report creation for investor relations for Brazilian Stock Exchange and Brazilian Institute of Investor Relations (IBRI) requirements.
  • Apply in-depth practical knowledge and application of financial analysis techniques and methodologies and financial statement analysis.
  • Evaluate financial indicators for prospective clients and provide credit limit recommendations.
  • Assist with internal and external auditor requests, providing auditors with information and documentation as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain treasurer policies and guidelines.
  • Remain current on new banking products, regulations, standards and treasury best practices to make informed recommendations to operational leaders and management concerning the implementation of operational changes.
  • Streamline payment workflow to ensure all transactions are accurate.
  • Interact with colleagues in Brazil for recommendations on local debt operations.
  • Manage Valid USA consolidated cash flow, directing planning actions regarding collections and payments to vendors.  Evaluate capital expenditure needs and research reasons for variances between actuals and forecasts.
  • Manage cash forecasts and necessities among Valid USA subsidiaries (MSC, Screencheck, and Valid Secure Packing) and distribute resources between each entity.
  • Manage Valid USA cash needs given the investment plan of Valid USA and discuss funding alternatives with the Treasury headquarters in Brazil.
  • Establish local and global relationships with banks to discuss suitable products to expand company operations, finance company investments, and payment of company loans.
  • Negotiate with diverse banks, recommend solutions, and operationalize a smooth transition to new chosen bank, limiting disruptions to payment routine for Valid USA vendors or collection of invoices.
  • Apply experience with the development and implementation of efficient cash management processes and principles, including cash flow projections, debt management, receivables collection, inventory, payment of liabilities, timing of major expenditures, and investment of idle cash.
  • Strengthen the payment workflow of Valid USA to ensure all transactions are accurate and reduce operational risks for the company and chances of making incorrect or unauthorized payments.
  • Apply in-depth financial risk management experience with respect to cash flow management, defining liability exposure limits for insurance purposes and disaster recovery processes, and evaluating Brazilian markets and impact to U.S. business;
  • Manage actions of machines acquisitions, evaluating feasibility analysis of projects presented by different business units within Valid USA and interpret financial indicators such as Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Discounted Payback, and Return on Capital.
  • Issue opinions regarding these projects to the Vice President of Finance in Valid USA and officers in headquarters.
  • Manage insurance program for Valid USA, including property, liability, and casualty programs; obtain quotes from insurers to obtain lower premiums and wide coverages to guarantee best price and assets integrity.
  • Partner with Controller in overseeing the month-end closing process, updating schedules and allocations.
  • Apply in-depth practical knowledge and experience with Financial Modeling, with specific focus on balance sheet and cash flow modeling using SAGE financial reporting software.

Job Requirements

  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Engineering, related field or its equivalent and 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • In-depth practical knowledge and application of International Finance Regulation Standards (IFRS) accounting standards in preparing financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, Value Added Statements and its footnotes for external audit.   
  • In-depth practical experience with managing and analyzing financial data for report creation for investor relations for Brazilian Stock Exchange and Brazilian Institute of Investor Relations (IBRI) requirements;
  • Experience with the development and implementation of efficient cash management processes and principles, including cash flow projections, debt management, receivables collection, inventory, payment of liabilities, timing of major expenditures, and investment of idle cash;
  • In-depth financial risk management experience with respect to cash flow management, defining liability exposure limits for insurance purposes and disaster recovery processes, and evaluating Brazilian markets and impact to U.S. business;
  • In-depth practical knowledge and application of financial analysis techniques and methodologies and financial statement analysis; and
  • In-depth practical knowledge and experience with Financial Modeling, with specific focus on balance sheet and cash flow modeling using SAGE financial reporting software.
