Job Title : Vice President of Business Development (VP - BD)

Location : Louisville, KY

ezDI, Inc. (spoken as ee-zee-dee-eye) is a cutting edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology company with deep focus on healthcare and is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. ezDI’s offering are broadly categorized in two buckets Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-service (PaaS). The SaaS arm serves US hospitals with its AI enabled Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and Computer-assisted Coding (CAC) applications. The PaaS arm provides Deep Knowledge Graph (deep clinical ontologies) augmented Clinical Natural Language Processing (NLP) to the entire healthcare ecosystem (provider, payer and pharma).  In addition the PaaS arm also provides AI Professional and Consulting Services in the areas of Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL).

ezDI’s sister company, Mediscribes, Inc. provides AI Enablement Services viz. data wrangling/preparation and transcription services to a broad range of industries. Mediscribes has esteem customers like Amazon, Microsoft and Google in its portfolio. Such companies reach out to ezDI when they need data creation, sourcing and preparation to develop their AI models.

Job Summary:

The VP - BD will manage entire business growth of both ezDI and Mediscribes. This role will be responsible for opening doors and forming (channel) partnerships with the right players that can drive tangible business growth.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage BD activities, operations, and forecast to determine sales progress toward stated goals & objectives.
  • Drive best practices throughout the BD process to ensure predictable, consistent, and repeatable performance.
  • Accountable to agreed upon revenue and partnership deliverables
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience of opening doors to large potential customers/partners.
  • Experience positioning value / benefits with the key decision makers
  • Ability to fully negotiate contracts and close profitable business.
  • Customer-centric; energetic self-starter who possesses an intense sense of urgency
  • Action oriented and results driven person with a strong “hands on” and disciplined work ethic
  • Identify and drive on new BD opportunities. Utilizing collaborative Go-To market strategy, work with potential customers to identify their needs and educate them on our product solutions.
  • Effectively communicating with prospects, leads and customers in a professional and consultative manner.
  • Develop and maintain a BD pipeline in Salesforce.com in order to meet objectives and revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with the technology teams to meet business objectives regarding opportunity development
  • Be able to effectively articulate technical information in an easily understood manner to C-suite, internal stakeholders, and others.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in business, science or IT related major from reputed universities (advanced degrees desirable)
  • Wide and in-depth understanding of the IT domain (particularly AI market) is essential 

Required Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of relevant BD experience, preferably in IT, software or healthcare services by virtue of working with large organizations
  • Understanding of AI  and its potential for solving business problems
  • Proven success in establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the BD cycle
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite and Salesforce.com 
  • Highly proficient in preparing and delivering impactful presentations
  • Top notch skills to conduct impactful product/solutions demonstrations
  • Extremely consultative and solution oriented in the selling process 

Desired Experience:

  • High-end knowledge of futuristic research in Artificial intelligence, cloud computing and  virtualization
  • Speaking at international seminars/webinars
  • Strong foundation/certifications of account planning strategies including Miller-Heiman, Spin, Sandler, Solution Selling, SNAP, and other recognized sales methodologies
  • Demonstrated clear understanding and passion for the current competitive landscape in Clinical Documentation Improvement, Coding, Medical Transcription/Medical Records, Natural Language Processing

Other Requirements:

  • Need to work from ezDI’s Louisville office at least 4 days a week
  • Willingness to help during sales, marketing and industry events setting up
  • Process orientation to follow the sales activities on real-time basis
  • Following up with leads from any source promptly
  • Working closely with marketing to develop and/or modify marketing material
  • Willingness to travel
