The Product Manager (PM) will lead the growing firmware, software and networking product line that is fundamentally changing the industry.The candidate will manage both day-to-day response to customer requests and overall development on next generation software products.The product manager works collaboratively with our engineering team, other product managers and vendors to develop comprehensive solutions.The scope of products includes embedded firmware, software applications and network communication software.The candidate acquires an in-depth knowledge of industry practices, applications and business opportunities to shape the software roadmap. The manager is responsible to develop use-case and detailed functional requirements for all software products.The PM oversees the release process including support for operations and field service.The candidate drives the voice of the customer, usability and expected response into all products.The position supports marketing communication, training, customers and sales to provide a complete understanding of the operation of all software features and capabilities.
Primary point of contact for HYTORC firmware/software/network feature requests.
Work with engineering/product team to develop the best solution and schedule for implementation.
Define and document software product functional requirements.
Provide leadership, coordination, call meetings, document plans.
Plan release updates, new products and marketing launch.
Specify customer network connectivity, e.g. via Bluetooth, WiFi, other.
Define software for a variety of platforms; PC, IOS, Linux.
Ensure products incorporate best practice for User Interface (UI) design.
Support software development project management, Agile, Scrum, as needed
Participate in reviews for system integration test and assist with expert user testing
Develop clear user documentation source and training source material.
Work with team members to ensure software usability and reliability.
BS/MS in CS/EE or BS Business IT/MIS
MBA a plus
PMP/Agile Certification a plus
Five years planning and implementing relevant firmware/software solutions
Suitable combination of equivalent education, training or experience will be considered
Strong customer service skills
Demonstrated development of written requirements, use cases and interface specifications
Demonstrated knowledge of User Interface Design, Menu Structures, Graphical Interface, etc.
Technical knowledge of data communication, Bluetooth protocols and embedded firmware
Knowledge of development languages such as Java, Python, C++
Excellent people management, communication, and team skills
