Bag Cutter (Laborer - Port of New Orleans)
We are currently hiring Bag Cutters for our client located at the Port of New Orleans. This position has a weekly rotating schedule. This is a full-time long-term opportunity.
Job Duties:
- Prepare intake line area to receive incoming shipments of coffee.
- Verify container numbers match manifests.
- Receive incoming shipments of coffee either bulk or bag, cut seals, and dispense the product into the hopper.
- Climb into the container using a ladder to shake out liners inside of containers to extract leftover coffee beans into the hopper.
- Clean up intake area, including sweeping, shoveling, and operating a blowing machine.
- Provide backup support to re-bagging and rework departments as required.
- May be required to load and unload containers and to throw coffee sacks (up to 100lbs) into containers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned per management.
Requirements:
- Transportation- Must have your own reliable transportation such as a vehicle with a valid Driver's License.
- Physical Requirements- Must be able to pull, push, twist, bend, reach, and lift up to 50lbs. on a regular basis.
Schedule: Monday through Friday with some weekends required.
- Morning- 7:00AM-3:30PM
- Afternoon/Evening Shift- 3:00PM-11:30PM
