Strom Engineering Minnesota is seeking to staff Material Handler positions with an excellent Minnesota company located in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. This position is responsible for the identification and location of specific component parts, preparation of product for shipment and delivering the materials/products to their intended locations. Positions are available for 1st, 2nd and Weekend shifts. Wage is $15.00-$19.00/hour depending upon shift and qualifications.
Essential Job FunctionsThe job duties listed below are the fundamental job duties of this position. Failure to perform any one of these duties would substantially alter the nature of the position
· Use crane, hoist, forklift or other material handling equipment to transport materials and product into and out of the work area as required
· Package, band, or shrink wrap product or loads
· Enter job data in production tracking system
· Inspection of Material Handling equipment and lifting devices
· Transact material moves, use barcode readers
· Verify / Count parts moved match paperwork for inventory accuracy
· Maintain accurate inventory
· Read drawings / prints to identify parts
· Gather/pick/assemble product on pick lists/load lists
· Put product away in designated areas
· Maintain good housekeeping
· Ensure use of safe work procedures and wear all required PPE.
· Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
· Follow company policies in relation to safety, cleanliness, attendance etc.
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Skill of effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills
· Skill to accurately use tape measure and precision measuring devices
· Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email, shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications
· Ability to perform basic shop math functions
· Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork in English
· Ability to electronically record production information
· Ability to work with others as part of a high performance team
· Adapt to changing work priorities
· Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures
