Our client, a manufacturer of machined, fabricated and welded components with over 30 years of expertise, are a team of innovators, constantly in a continuous improvement review to provide best practice results for their customers. They specialize in machining, welding/fabrication, build to print assembly, inspection and balancing within the manufacturing industry.

The Quality Technician assists in Inspection Lab activities allowing it to perform seamlessly while providing accurate, repeatable measurement results that fully support the needs of their internal and external Customers. The Quality Technician Lead reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Working with peers to help coordinate and schedule Inspection Lab functions so all requirements are accomplished in the most efficient manner possible
  • Performing first piece, in-process, and final inspections and document as required
  • Programming and operating the CMM, Faro Arm, Faro Laser Tracker, and Tesa vision system
  • Cross training on all lab equipment to have a functional knowledge and operational ability of the equipment listed above
  • Being the subject matter expert on the use of all conventional measuring equipment, ability to design and develop specialty gauging, along with a highly developed understanding of GD&T
  • Working with the QA Manager and Quality Engineer and other Inspectors to perform capability studies, Gauge R&R studies, and other statistical techniques
  • Suppling the necessary data for AS9102 and PPAP submissions
  • Assisting in calibration activities to ensure all are accomplished as scheduled
  • Researching and suggesting upgrades/alternatives/additions to the existing lab equipment while also justifying the procurement by demonstrating the appropriate ROI


  • High School Diploma
  • 10+ years of inspection experience
  • Highly skilled ability to measure with all manual gauges (calipers, mics, etc.)
  • Expertise in the use and programming of the CMM, Faro Arm, Faro Laser Tracker, and Tesa vision system

Work Environment: Climate controlled quality lab (80%), shop floor (20%) where parts, chips, coolant and oils may be on the floor.

Physical Demands: Stand (80%), sit (20%), lift up to 50 lbs.
