IT Specialist
- The candidate will initially provide end-user support and troubleshooting for all internal hardware, software and Phone Systems.
- This person will work with the IT Manager on the implementation of new technologies. Also play a role in coordinating field installations and upgrade initiatives.
- This will include assisting the IT Manager in facilitating field activities such as upgrading systems with the latest versions of software and the rollout of new hardware and field training.
- Additional training will be provided to develop skills on technologies new to the candidate.
- Current Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Answer incoming employee inquiries via telephone, email and/or web concerning network password, telephony, voice mail, printing and computer related issues. Must be able to diagnose and resolve moderately complex system hardware, software, network, and operator issues.
- Must be able to update and maintain complete inventory of Store IT hardware and infrastructure. Including when available, IP Addresses (for static devices), port numbers, serial numbers, install codes, Service Tags, Express Service Codes.
- Interface extensively with end users, peers, computer technicians and other Information technology personnel for the resolution or escalation of desktop related problems.
- Assist with all aspects of technical support, including on-site visits as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and call logs for management reporting.
- As needed, instruct end users in the appropriate use of equipment, software, and/or reference materials.
- Travel to different stores - to troubleshoot printers, install computers, printers etc.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate must have an Associate Degree in Information Technology or Computer Sciences or at least 2 years of experience in Information Technology. Knowledge of computer systems diagnostic and repair skills. Working knowledge of setups, reinstalls of Windows 7 - Windows 10, Microsoft Office (XP to current release).
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Candidate must have Networking and Telecommunications (Data), Including but not limited to:
Routers, hubs. Understanding of TCP/IP WANs and LANs
Windows Servers 2003-(current release)
Internet Connectivity
Firewalls - (Cisco ASA), Routers, Switches
Cat-5 Cabling Standards
AS/400 IBM I5, P6, P7 Systems
TECHNOLOGIES USED:
Cisco routers and firewalls
IBM power systems
Shortel phone systems
Apple i-OS apps and devices
Android devices
Java, RPG, SQL and other programming languages
