Executive Recruiter (Remote Option) – Energy Practice – Direct Hire Staffing

Variant Partners has a successful 49-year history with a strong reputation providing direct hire executive and professional staffing in select industries. We are a family owned and operated. We are expanding our Energy practice. For the past fifteen years we have been placing in-house legal counsel in Energy companies. We have a very strong reputation and network in that segment. We are looking to expand into new disciplines within that industry. Essential Job Functions

  • Create, execute and maintain records of communications with clients and candidates on a consistent basis  
  • Qualify candidates through detailed interviews to assess skills, abilities and experience  
  • Identify potential “Impact Players’ who can be proactively marketed to clients and prospects  
  • Guide placement process from start to finish, including presenting candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating communication between both parties  
  • Maintain contact with both parties to ensure a smooth onboarding process  
  • Create project plans with clients that align with their key deliverables and desired timeline  
  • Evaluate and classify types of positions based on specifications, urgency, relationship and excitement 
  • Facilitate client-candidate agreement to completion: negotiate dollars, benefits, responsibilities and start date  
  • Ensure delivery of invoice to client and timely receipt of payment  
  • Negotiate and confirm terms of business  
  • Consistently prospect, pursue and close new business using a variety of resources, including data sourcing tools, company websites, job boards, referrals, networking, social media and cold calling
  • Utilize research to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of a specific industry and hiring trends and to identify potential client companies and hiring authorities within a specific marketplace


  • Recent experience in the energy industry; recruiting experience a plus
  • Ability to work remote or previous experience working in a remote/work-at-home setting
  • Ability to identify new leads and prospects, and obtain client meetings  
  • Track record of developing relationships and conducting business over the phone and/or through electronic media  
  • Strong communication skills and ability to relate to another person's point of view over the phone
  • Excellent computer, grammar and telephone sales skills  
  • Resiliency necessary to handle the rejection that comes with any sales position with superior cold calling skills  
  • Internet-savvy to perform targeted internet research to identify candidates and clients
