Plan, schedule and ensure the timely delivery of the company's freight to a multi-regional geographic area.
Responsible for the tending loads, successful dispatch and pick-up of planned loads and subsequent ownership of loads for assigned area
Sustain active real-time communication between drivers, customers, CSRs and to ensure that load pick-up and delivery schedules are on time and drivers are complaint with DOT hours of service regulations.
Utilize network tools to determine location of trucks and available customer loads, tailor planning to meet area needs.
Understand daily capacity demand and pro-actively communicate to appropriate leadership
Utilize Support tools to assign loads to trucks ensuring customers' service requirements are met
Responsible to report and recognize issue pattern and provide recommended solutions.
Daily preparation and execution of accurate pass downs that include current load status on all active and pending loads.
Act as a back up to the Driver Manager team.
Advise drivers how to route truck if weather conditions are bad or if having health related issues.
Understand and execute proper procedures for overages, shortages and damages.
Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost -effective manner.
Communicate as necessary with Human Resources and Safety to ensure that company policies are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, transportation, logistics, business, or related field preferred; relevant work experience also considered.
Thorough knowledge of the freight industry.
TMW knowledge is desired.
Excellent Computer Skills including proficiency in MS Office
Knowledge of DOT Hazardous Material Shipping regulations
Ability to plan, think ahead, and prepare action plans to achieve results
Requires creative problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities
Requires strong interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills
