Latitude Subrogation Services LLC is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work in our Bloomfield Hills, MI office and be responsible for the oversight and management of the accounting team and general accounting functions, including financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

If you have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and a minimum of seven years of accounting experience to include a supervisory management role of an accounting department, this position may be a good fit for you. This position has the potential for future advancement and is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. There is a 1-year payback clause if your employment ends for any reason prior to your first-year anniversary.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


            Accounting Team Management:

o   Supervises the accounting team, currently seven individuals

o   Responsible for team performance, including training, coaching, and motivating team members as needed and creating a positive work environment with effective communication methods

o   Responsible for overseeing individual team members by guiding and monitoring daily work activities and projects to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations and laws while maintaining maximum individual productivity, efficiency and accuracy

o   Works with team members to assess current accounting processes and procedures, make recommendations for improvements, and update all accounting process documents

o   Develops team by managing each team member’s performance, proactively identifying and effectively communicating process issues or improvement opportunities, setting and reviewing goals, and performing monthly and annual performance reviews, and processing disciplinary measures if needed

o   Handles difficult conversations and exhibits practical conflict resolution skills


Company Financial Records:

o   Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all Company (and subsidiaries) financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledgers, monthly financial reports, client reports, and account reconciliations

o   Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and updates documentation 

o   Assists with preparing, reviewing and analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness

o   Prepares periodic financial reports and ad hoc analysis as requested by leadership; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards

o   Participates in the annual budget preparation process with leadership.

o   Participates in annual SOC audit process with leadership

o   Responsible for maintaining and updating fixed asset schedule

o   Works with senior management to improve financial reporting and continual improvement of department workflow

o   Communicates with all levels of the organization

o   Assists and supports outside CPA firm for preparation of annual compiled financial statements and tax returns


Required Experience and Skills:

o   Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

o   Minimum of seven years of accounting experience

o   Minimum of three years in supervisory management role of an accounting department

o   Sound knowledge of current accounting principles, standards, and regulations

o   Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office

o   Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy

o   Strong time management, organizational, and project management skills

o   Strong communication and customer service skills

o   Strong critical thinking ability

o   Strong team leadership skills

o   Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language

o   Employment is contingent upon the employee maintaining adequate bandwidth for their home Internet as determined by Latitude's IT department. A wired Internet service provider and a wired workstation network connection is preferred and may be required.
