Finance Manager

Opportunity: The Mom Project is helping to source candidates for the above client who is looking for a Finance Manager.

Commitment Level: 40 hours per week, 50% remote, 10% travel



We are excited to partner with a company that offers an affordable, approachable digital asset marketplace, bringing equal access to financial freedom across diverse audiences in the US. The company will be operated and built on cutting-edge matching engine and wallet technologies. The team is looking for a self-motivated, fully sufficient finance/accounting manager to jumpstart and maintain the financial reporting of this SF-based operation.


Major responsibilities
1. Financial reporting
a) Maintain accounting book and prepare monthly reporting package based on HQ office instructions;
b) Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local accounting GAAP
c) Work together with tax consultants to prepare and submit tax returns on time;
d) Work together with auditors to prepare annual financial reports and submit filings on time;
e) Maintain accounting system in local office;
f) Review/Process all the payments of the company.


2. Building out the necessary team and requirements for facilitating finance operations.



3. Policy and Procedure
Ensure company’s financial and accounting procedures in compliance with the group policy, as well as local statutory requirements. Make proper retention of documents with local tax office, business licenses, statistics, bookkeeping.


4. Operation 
a) Review local contracts initiated by local office in particular on the payment terms. Assess tax implication of the contracts;
b) Work with operation and compliance team to ensure the compliance of local rules and regulations. 
 


5. Clearing and Settlement 
a) Understand the process of clearing and settlement;
b) Reconcile the account balances in the system with accounting book.



Qualifications
1. Bachelor degree in accounting/finance/economic/business administration) is a must;
2. Good knowledge of local accounting GAAP, Certified Public Accountant is a plus;
3. Fluent Mandarin communication is a plus;
4. Minimum three (3) years of experience at relevant positions; Ideally start-up experience;
5. Familiar with local laws and regulations;
6. Experienced and knowledgeable of accounting software, payroll procedures, and management systems;
7. Familiar with local tax structure and capable of identifying tax implication of commercial transactions;
8. Good ability of logic analysis and communication skills;
9. A team player, able to work under pressure.
10. A go-getter with hunger to be part of a defining team in cryptocurrency history.
