We are looking for candidates with a strong understanding of how metrics are reported and perceived, monitoing of KPI to determine health of an application, Mobile performance test strategies, AWS technologies and Hybris/SAP. 100% of the applications are digital, cloud and Hybris based

Candidates need:
Strong background with mobile, AWS, Hybris technologies where he would be providing direction with test strategies\approach, architecture performance review and recommendations, and monitoring\triaging when encountering performance test issues.

PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING TEST LEAD/TECHNICAL DIAGNOSTIC ROLE


JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performance Engineering Test Lead role is responsible for providing vision, resource direction and thought leadership for application and infrastructure projects through the software development lifecycle. This includes direct management responsibility for ongoing application performance testing, turning, modeling and performance enhancement recommendation according to business need and defined operational level commitments for each functional project. This also includes the service operations for the entire suite of enterprise performance engineering and diagnostics monitoring tools and capabilities.

Performance Engineering Technical Diagnostic role is responsible for providing technical vision, independent direction thought leadership for application and infrastructure projects through the software development lifecycle. This includes technical leadership responsibility for ongoing application performance diagnostics, tuning, and performance enhancement recommendation according to business need and defined operational level commitments for each functional project. This also includes technical direction and individual accountability to ensure the PE documentation, PE RFC's accuracy, Perf-test environment shakeout, performance tool monitoring, work load characterization and application/container and infrastructure performance test environment are configured accurately prior to performance testing implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage utilization of performance engineering resources to ensure accurate forecasting and resource allocation to effectively predict and meet variable demand requirements
  • Lead and mentor junior members of PE team on technical best practice and standardized process
  • Perform as a single point of contact for performance engineering status on all active project work
  • Responsible for educating project owners on performance engineering process, standards, continuous value add
  • Responsible for leading test strategy and performance reviews
  • Perform as single point of escalation for performance engineering delivery issues
  • Drive continuous alignment with Service Introduction and project lifecycle compliance
  • Manage and report on progress towards team and unit objectives
  • Responsible for understanding the set processes and standards (change management, configuration management, etc.) and verifying team compliance
  • Allocate resources and responsibilities across team to deliver business results and develop team members
  • Maintain and update reporting standards as necessary
  • Responsible for developing ideas and plans for reducing overall operations support
  • Instill commitment to quality, customer service, ownership, and teamwork
  • Build and maintain business relationships
  • Communicate team goals (formal and informal), expectations, organizational philosophies, and policies and procedures to the functional team
  • Manage team development, coaching and effectiveness for all direct reports
  • Conduct code profiling, static code analysis, dynamic code analysis and identify performance bottlenecks, provide recommendations and provide performance analysis report
  • Responsible for tracking Performance Engineering detected defects in standardized defect tracking tool and providing recommendations on improving performance of the identified issues/bottlenecks.
  • Setup monitoring tools and monitor appropriate layers to ensure complete coverage to identify performance issues and provide analysis and recommendations to improve performance of the identified bottlenecks
  • Provide inputs and assist in developing the Performance Testing strategy and execution plans.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of performance test results report, final deliverables including the overall findings and recommendations of performance engineering projects.
  • Understand and promote the concept of performance engineering during all phases of the SDLC, to deliver performance certified applications to deployment teams.
  • Participate in transitioning the designs to the developers and system engineers, and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the designs
  • Understand and communicate specific application components and technologies
  • Manage the configuration of applications and technologies and their respective metadata
  • Manage minor issues independently, providing guidance to junior members of the team participate in the setting of standards around applications and technologies and manage their lifecycle
  • Provide explanations to project teams about standard work performed on their systems and technologies
  • Research trends in technology and/or application development patterns
  • Assist the technology or application architects in the response to proposals, including design and validation of architectures
  • Assist in defining and reviewing requirements and use cases for the application or technology including security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements
  • Use the business process requirements to drive out application and technology requirements and metrics
  • Design components of the application or technology to meet the business process design and application requirements
  • Validate the design with the stakeholders to ensure that the design satisfies the requirements
  • Inform the technical and application architects and project manager of any issues that may affect other areas of the project
  • Design application user interfaces, classes, and components as applicable to application or technology domain
  • Utilize PE team best practice and standardized process
  • Responsible to identify performance related issues/concerns and raise them to the attention of the PE Test Arch or PE Tech Arch.
  • Responsible for understanding the set processes and standards (change management, configuration management, etc.) and verifying team compliance
  • Maintain and update PE deliverable standards as necessary

CONTRIBUTION EXPECTATIONS:
Participate in Jira Scrum grooming and daily calls, identifying user stories requiring PE engagement
  • Drive standardization of performance engineering delivery artifacts
  • Drive operational efficiencies via creation, maintenance and improvements
  • Coordinate and produce PE delivery timelines for operational projects
  • Enforce standardization of Technology Architecture creation
  • Enforce license compliance of all Performance Engineering and Diagnostics software
  • Continue to drive increase quality of operations work produced from Performance Engineering
Technical Role:
  • Review application performance engineering and diagnostic requirements that are identified in the architectural design phase of the application lifecycle.
  • Work independently to design a PE delivery solution that utilizes the full spectrum of Performance Engineering suite of products to accurately identify, test, and suggest resolution of application performance issues.
  • Provide standard method documentation deliverables around PE test strategy, work load characterization, server/network modeling, defect list prioritization, performance recommendations and test completion summary.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with project teams, leadership and client on the status of Performance engineering deliverables.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Highly trained resource with experience in the design thru deploy application lifecycle management with a strong technical background in performance testing and performance diagnostics in a large enterprise environment. Comprehensive understanding of digital application architecture, large on-premise and Cloud large Enterprise infrastructure architecture, waterfall and agile application lifecycle, and ITIL methodologies.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Performance Engineering Test Lead role will report directly into PE Team\Group Lead, PE Architect Lead or Diagnostic Services Group Lead role
