Digital Marketing and Communications Manager

Seco Tools is seeking dynamic, driven, and experienced Marketing Manager to lead our digital transformation in North America and contribute to our global initiatives of how we’ll go to customers in the future.

Profile and Position Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience working across several digital channels including (but not limited to) web, social, display, email, and search while possessing strong data, analytic, and reporting skills. This role will partner closely with many internal cross-functional teams including sales, channel, engineering, customer support, inside sales, lead gen, project management and finance.

Your time will be split evenly between three focus areas: Global Marketing Strategy responsibilities, Local (North American) Marketing Strategy, and Future Vision Formulation & Execution.

This role has a dual reporting structure to 1) the North American Director of Customer Experience and 2) the Marketing Manager of the global sales team and has an opportunity to drive a digital marketing transformation that will help lead our company and our customers into the new normal. You will play a vital role on the customer experience team and will help set a global example as to our company’s way of going to customers in the future.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cross-channel, integrated digital marketing campaigns end-to-end from research and strategy, media buying (potentially outsourced) and tracking, execution, optimization, and post-launch review to pull our existing and prospective customers through our funnel.

  • Contribute to a global strategy while being responsible for local (North America) execution

  • Utilize analytical ability to evaluate and improve end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and touchpoints.

  • Collaborate with global marketing and local sales and channel teams to understand how our customers want to interact with us and tailor messaging accordingly.

  • Possess a deep understanding of website experiences and identify unique opportunities to leverage content, creative, and technology that may drive or influence execution.

  • Be a staunch advocate for employee branding. You love putting our name out there and helping our initiatives of becoming a great place to work.

  • Able to develop (or recommend developments) high-quality, scalable, and reusable web components for a B2B website, powered by a CMS. Must be comfortable deciding if business outcomes are worth the development costs.

  • Synthesize learnings into actionable insights to shape plans and report best practices with cross-functional teams.

  • Run A/B and multivariate tests across digital channels to analyze and improve performance.

  • Collaborate with broad cross-functional partners including brand and design, marketing, engineering, analytics, product, and external partners and agencies.

  • Building business cases to justify spend, headcount changes and resource allocation.

  • Optimize support of virtual and local events.

  • Gain understanding of how to bet support our customers (sales channels and end users).

  • Create budget and make spend recommendations tied to the future direction of the sales strategy.

  • Work with channel team to optimize our marketing spend and strategy with Amazon.com and make recommendations of other viable sales/marketing channels.

Core knowledge, experience and skills

  • 5+ years experience managing a digital marketing team responsible for acquiring new business in a technical environment.

  • Possess both strategic and effective marketing skills driving digital strategy, execution, and results.

  • Customer journey mapping or service design experience related to a customer’s digital lifecycle.

  • Experience with problem solving and analytical skills including: conducting qualitative and quantitative research, analyzing data, data visualization, developing hypotheses, synthesizing insights & recommendations.

  • Experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns.

  • Experience with various CRM platforms and their functional capabilities (we use Sugar) specifically the utilization of its MAP.

  • Experience with digital and web analytics and data tracking tools (e.g., Google Marketing Platform, Adobe Marketing Cloud).

Preferred knowledge, experience and skills:

  • 10+ years leading and growing effectiveness of a digital marketing team.

  • Website management and technology experience including CMS, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

  • Experience or familiarity with ad serving tools and DSPs (e.g., Google DV360, Adobe Advertising Cloud).

  • Strong understanding of our core competencies and how that drives decisions to insource or outsource.

  • You’ve built partnerships that can be adapted to the strategy you create.

  • Experience presenting ideas to groups of stakeholders and influencing decisions.

  • Experience keeping up with latest trends and best practices.

  • Experience in multicultural marketing across the digital landscape.

  • You have the aptitude to learn more about our business, how consumers want to interact with our brand and products, and how that strategy evolves over time.

  • Create and execute a strategic internal communications plan
  • Support the launch and ongoing communications around corporate social responsibility program
