Job Purpose

Performs described quality activities throughout the manufacturing plant as necessary on a daily basis. Communicates quality requirements to plant personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include performing basic tasks that may affect product quality. The duties may require good manual dexterity, and/or hand-eye coordination, while exceeding or meeting the required pace of production.

These duties include (but are not limited to):

Monitor test pilots for new products. Pull the representative sample from the pilot run as the Mold Sample for manufacturing and send to Engineering for approval. Deliver test pilot data directly after the test pilot to the Quality Control Technicians for processing. Generate, distribute and file inspection reports as appropriate.

Take accurate gauge readings related to process and product at prescribed intervals using Scales, Calipers, Micrometers, Height gauge. Perform first piece verification of tool changes. Maintain statistical process control charts as applicable on designated key characteristics on production parts. Plot and graph findings on appropriate control charts: attribute, variable, Pareto, histogram. Identify and react appropriately to out of control conditions in the manufacturing area. Provides input on processes and/or procedures to identify areas for improvement and provides recommendations to Supervisor, Manager and Director. Ensures completion of daily, weekly and monthly checklists assigned accurately and timely. Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, quality, schedules, and any additional information requested. Ensures compliance and maintenance of TS and IS certifications including professional representation and knowledge required.

Ability to perform all tasks associated with positions listed above. As well as maintain professional attitude offering support to Engineering, Office Staff, Production Staff, Leads, Supervisors and Director. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist whenever and in whatever capacity needed.

Qualifications

Availability- Must agree to work any shift and understand that changing to a different shift is at the discretion of the Director of Quality. Must be able to work 12 hour days and any other required overtime hours.

Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet, Quality and Word Processing software.

Drug Screen- Must submit to a drug screen, which is performed on all final candidates for employment. Results must be reported prior to start date.  

Education and/or Experience- Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills- Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Write, speak and comprehend English.

Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Travel- No required with this position

Work Authorization - Must be authorized to work in the United States - Appropriate documentation is obtained and reviewed by Human Resources.
