Creative Financial Staffing is paired with a non-profit organization seeking to add a Staff Accountant to their team.

About the Organization Seeking a Staff Accountant:

  • Founded 70 years ago, this organization works to provide services to individuals with disabilities to improve their quality of life and independence
  • They consistently have partnered with other Boston-area non-profits to assist in bigger missions for many people with disabilities
  • The organization believes in fiscal responsibility and regularly checks to make sure that a majority of its revenue goes back to helping the individuals they serve rather than any other costs
  • The individuals on the accounting team have great longevity; the CFO and Accounts Receivable Specialist have been with the organization over three years and the Accounts Payable Specialist has been for over a decade


Background Expected of the Staff Accountant:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or experience equivalent
  • Quickbooks experience preferred
  • 3 years' experience in full-cycle accounting, non-profit preferred
  • Highly developed communication skills


Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

  • As the right hand of the CFO, this role is designed to take care of the day-to-day accounting within the organization
  • Full-cycle work including journal entries
  • Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
  • Supporting third party billing including research and communication
  • Non-profit specific activities such as preparing for year-end audit and state revenue reporting
