Job Description

*Applicants will be considered for cases throughtout Montgomery/Delaware Counties.

 

The Behavioral Specialist Consultant designs and directs the implementation of a behavior plan which is individualized to meet the youth’s mental health needs in accordance with the youth’s treatment plan and diagnosis on the Autism spectrum. The BSC provides instruction to other treatment team members regarding roles and responsibilities in the implementation of the behavior plan.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Licensed psychologist, social worker, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, or professional counselor

or

  • Pennsylvania Behavioral Specialist Consultant License in good standing.
  • One (1) year verified post-master’s experience providing behavioral health treatment to children (at least one of which is experience using behavior analysis /modification techniques).

Job Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

Administrative:

  • Major highlights of the position requirements are noted below. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.
  • Maintain record keeping and documentation procedures, including Progress Notes, Quarterly Progress Summaries on assigned cases according to program policies, procedures and regulatory criteria;
  • Participate in biweekly clinical supervision;
  • Participate, upon request, with evaluations by external agencies;
  • Provide psychologist information related to progress with treatment for re-evaluations;
  • Submit billing packets on a weekly basis;*

Assessment and Planning Responsibilities:

  • Assess the need for an individualized behavior plan as recommended in the youth’s treatment plan;
  • Observe youth at home, in school and in other settings where problem behaviors occur and discussion with other treatment team members;
  • Develop individualized behavior plans which include youth- and family-centered behavior goals, specific intervention techniques, responsible team members and specific timelines;
  • Supervise the implementation of the behavior plan;
  • Attend the youth’s Interagency Service Planning Meeting;
  • Participate in the development of the youth’s Wraparound Treatment Plan.

Youth and Family Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular contact with other members of the treatment team to receive and provide feedback on the youth’s progress;
  • Serve as a member of the youth’s treatment team;
  • Meet with treatment team members regularly to monitor the implementation of the behavior plan;
  • Provide emergency evaluation and intervention, as assigned, when critical situations arise which require modification to the behavior plan;
