Purchasing Manager for Premier Construction Organization

Are you an experienced purchasing professional with a strong background in construction procurement? Our client, a well-established and highly respected construction organization, is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join their team.

This Construction Purchasing Manager position will ensure the success of construction projects by providing the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and equipment. This position demands a keen eye for detail, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.

Job Description:

• Assist the organization’s purchasing processes, including product standardization, managing agreements and preparing bid documents.

• Support the company leadership as needed in the review, research, data collection and analysis of proposals & contracts as well as maintaining proper filing of documents.

• Analyze data to prepare reports and build comp grids to enhance decision making and business processes related to purchasing.

• Provide ongoing market research on the following: supply chain, product availability, product pricing, vendors, innovative or alternative products, defective products, timely delivery and estimating accuracy for forecasting project needs.

• Assist with the solicitation, review and approval of bids, contracts, scopes of work, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, etc.

• Assist with the administration and management of Procore and other software platforms used in the preconstruction phases of a project.

• Establish and evaluate relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

• Manage the negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms to secure the best possible deals without compromising on quality.

• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand material specifications and project timelines.

• Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed, preventing project delays.

Qualifications:

• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office (advanced knowledge in Excel).

• Proficient in reading construction blueprints and documents.

• Highly detail oriented with ability to perform detailed analysis.

• Strong negotiation skills and ability to collaborate well with others

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Construction and property management experience.
