Reports to:  Sales Director - US

FLSA Status:    Exempt

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Products/Industries: OEM and non-OEM pumps/motors and related parts, service, and engineering opportunities covering the Power - Nuclear/Fossil/Gas and Chemical Industries.

The major duties and responsibilities of this position as shown below will drive the success of Hayward Tyler in the Marketing, Selling, Manufacturing, and Delivering of our products to the customer on time, with high quality and at a profit while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Acting as the primary point of contact between our valued customers and HTI, the ideal candidate will assume account responsibility as a trusted advisor to our customers in managing existing accounts and cultivating new account opportunities for market and revenue growth. This position is flexible and can be remote position or based out of HTI facility in Colchester, VT.

1.  Responsible for all aftermarket pump/motor sales of HTI equipment to include spare parts, shop service/rebuilds, field service, engineering services, canned motor retrofits, canned motor pumps, and replacement of competitor’s equipment with HTI equipment in the assigned territory or account. 

2.  Will be responsible for understanding plant operation, safety and quality requirements so they position themselves as a valued resource to consult and coordinate on technical questions and recommended actions based on individual customer needs related to their specific application including operation and design criteria.

3.  Manages the sales cycle at all customer sites, corporate offices and consultants as required achieving HTI objectives. Promotes value-added to all customers at all stages of the selling cycle. Sales travel expected to be 75% with some weekend travel possible.

4.  Will understand customer’s maintenance cycle and provide a forecast relevant to the customer’s site activity and provide feedback on what drives the customer’s decisions related to maintenance, engineering, spares, repairs etc.

5.  Brings in inquiries outlining clearly defined customer expectations and follows the proposal process to ensure that the proposal is competitive, accurate and on time. Passes on leads for new opportunities outside of assigned territory to appropriate sales team members.    

6.  Develops and provides PowerPoint presentations for customers, conducts HTI factory tours and accompanies customers to HTI as necessary to close deals. Periodically reviews and improves upon sales materials (literature and website).

7.  Manages their individual open quote pipeline for accuracy and closure within the HTI CRM system. Runs appropriate reports to understand the health of the business.

8.  Follows established guidelines for tracking sales in the CRM system and utilizes the CRM system to effectively manage and drive sales activity. Daily follow-up of CRM tasks (from follow-up to closure), with specific information gathered and entered in CRM at each stage. Examples of information include (1) competition, (2) pricing compared to competition, (3) most valued aspect of quotation - cost, delivery, warranty, etc., and (4) if sale was lost, to whom and by what criteria.

9.  Submits periodic and yearly territory reports to Sales Director to forecast and plan resources and budgets.

10.  Submits weekly itineraries to Sales Director in advance of travel and ensures Outlook calendar accurately reflects travel schedule.

11.  Manages their travel and selling expenses per HTI travel policy and submits weekly expense reports.

12.  Identifies and participates in relevant tradeshows/conferences/lunch and learns through exhibiting, presenting, and/or attending.

13.  Assists in training customers and other sales employees when necessary.

14.  Provides customer and competitor market intelligence.

15.  Other related duties as required.

Minimum qualifications:

 BS in Engineering or equivalent job experience.

 5 years proven consultative selling and negotiation success in pump/motor related products or relevant technical product.

 Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards, specifications, and technical proposals

 Expected travel up to 75% yearly

 Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sales Force or other CRM systems and the Internet

 Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

 Detail oriented, organized, highly motivated and able to work with little direct supervision.

 Proactive in reporting and communicating to team

TERRITORY AND INDUSTRY

 Geographical Territory as assigned by Sales Director and subject to change as necessary.

 Key Accounts as assigned by Sales Director.
