Equipment Service Technician

SUMMARY:

Perform all functions relating to the installation and service of dental equipment with the focus on remaining on providing a best-in-class customer experience.


ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Provide ethical repair and installation services to our customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide and maintain your own necessary tools of the trade, (tool purchase assistance program may be available).
  • Manage and account for van inventory.
  • Comply with all written OSHA regulations and Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate in writing and verbally in a professional and timely manner with customers and other Team Schein Members.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.


DAILY DUTIES:

  • Respond to calls and manage daily work schedule through use of dispatch and field software.
  • Manage work order flow, keeping up to date on all work completed to ensure proper invoicing to customer.
  • Drive carefully and courteously to and from service calls.
  • Listen to customer needs and determine how best to exceed them.
  • Troubleshoot a variety of dental equipment to determine root cause of service issue.
  • Order necessary parts and manage process to return and install parts.
  • Complete returns of warranty parts.
  • Complete regulatory paperwork as required.


WORK SCHEDULE:           

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours/week) unless otherwise required or directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sit, stand and drive a vehicle for long periods.
  • Bend, crouch, stretch, climb, lift and handle up to 50# regularly, occasionally more.
  • Meet Company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis
  • Perform all functions in compliance with Company World-Wide Business Standards, policies and procedures.
  • High school diploma required, relevant achievement/certification from a vocational program/military, strongly preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, pass pre-employment criminal background and employment eligibility checks as-well-as a drug test.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience using work order management/invoicing system.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment for calibration and diagnosis of low and line voltage electrical.
  • Desire to display a service oriented attitude with all customers and fellow TSMs.
