Support ongoing research programs, conduct research projects that provide actionable insights, drive growth and become the market expert on a given set of electro-optics products. The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for working successfully with internal clients and external data sources to develop and conduct research projects designed to provide relevant, accurate, and prompt market intelligence to the business unit GM and Sales team to aid in better decision making and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Evaluates and organizes numerous technical and quantitative models, consultant sources, and periodicals to further the understanding of the Electro-Optics markets on both a short-term and long-term basis.
Communicates detail oriented reports to all levels of the organization regarding price movements, market forecasts, and fundamental demand outlooks for the Industry/Science/Medical product areas.
Researches internal cost factors and external market drivers and translates data points into understandable market positions including price positioning, new market opportunities, product development and brand positioning.
Maintains and improves the demand database.
Mines internal data sources to identify market behaviors correlated to specific products.
Facilitate web-based reporting tools to support communication of results to organization.
Assist with marketing programs aimed at cultivating new business, including the full support of regional, national and international tradeshows, related marketing/sales tools and monitoring competitive products and reactions from accounts.
Domestic and International travel up to 25% of time via the quickest and most efficient means including but not limited to necessary travel by air and automobile to perform the essential functions of the role.

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university in Marketing and/or applicable discipline; plus minimum 7+ years experience in technical Marketing.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents written in the English language. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write and edit speeches and articles in the English language using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive conversations, speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and /or boards in the English language.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have competent knowledge of the Photonis computer software, as well as a working knowledge of word processing software (Microsoft Suite). Proficiency with current Sales and/or Marketing software such as SharePoint. Competency extracting data from various large relational databases and software analysis (SAS) programs such as SPSS, SQL queries, Tableau or similar.
