Job Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university require
  • Minimum five years of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles
  • Minimum two years in homebuilding/construction environment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel Word, Outlook
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to think outside the box, with an eye to potential solution
  • Creation and validation of cost savings to support continuous improvement projects
  • Consistently work to improve accounting processes and work smarter
  • Must be highly detail-oriented, well organized, able to juggle multiple projects, manage time effectively and meet deadlines

Assistant Controller in HomeBuilding

The Asst. Controller will report to the V.P. of Finance in our Corporate office. The position be responsible for preparing, analyzing and interpretation of financial reporting, reconciliation of accounts and cost and financial analysis in supporting the Corporate finance department.  

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare, analyze and interpret weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statements
  • Maintain and analyze account reconciliations including monthly bank reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, & amortization
  • Perform and year end closing activities, including journal entries, general ledger and bank reconciliation, cost and financial analysis, and establishing accruals
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Assist the V.P. of Finance with business tax filings and creation of budgets & forecasts
  • Maintain and develop internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
  • Other duties as assigned
