Inventory Planner

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales allowance input and expiration
  • Communicate with all Parts Managers and purchasing personnel on inventory levels and locations
  • Manage and enforce targeted parts returns
  • Control branch inventory level to produce targeted inventory turns
  • Ensure that core returns/schedules are tracked
  • Manage and control obsolete parts inventory

 

Primary Duties

  • Run inventory reports on daily, weekly, or monthly basis and perform detailed analysis of item performance
  • Identify ‘heavy’ and ‘low turn’ inventory items and maintain communication reports for sales team
  • Perform and track inventory adjustments (quantity and price variance analysis)
  • Determine and set pricing for parts on sales allowances
  • Manage and control each branch parts inventory level, ensuring an adequate inventory and efficient use of warehouse space
  • Assist with branch inventory audits as necessary
  • Produce branch stock orders to ensure ‘best buy’ pricing by using sound judgment along with consultation from branch
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years of Warehouse Inventory Control experience
  • Heavy-duty truck parts knowledge is preferred
  • Must be professional and possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task several priorities
  • Demonstrate the ability to organize vast amounts of data
  • Capable of working the entire MS Office suite, especially Excel; DSI reporting systems experience is a plus
  • Possess solid time management skills
