Job Description

 

Position:  Accountant

 

Division:  Accounting

 

Reports To: Director of Accounting

 

Location:  Lexington KY Corporate Office

Responsibilities

  • Works with Director of Accounting in directing and coordinating company financial planning and budget management functions. 
  • Produce monthly financial statements and annual budgets for a portfolio of properties.
  • Analyzes variances between monthly operating results and budgets.
  • Complete audit schedules and reports for audits as well as review for accuracy.
  • Provides recommendations for procedural improvements and efficiencies in financial processes.
  • Assist with monthly financials for our corporate entity.
  • Analyzes and implements internal controls as needed.
  • Manages special projects as assigned by Director of Accounting.
  • Works with all Winterwood staff to help them understand and interpret financial results.
  • Supervises AP/AR processes and assists as needed.

 

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate.

 

Qualifications

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, CPA designation preferred, Real Estate or Property Management experienced preferred, 7 years experience
  • Skills – Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Knowledge of state and federal regulations. Professional verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
