Accountants One is once again helping one of our best clients hire a critical role. A multi-state healthcare provider is hiring their first Revenue Cycle Director. This highly successful, closely held, entrepreneurial, healthcare organization is set to become a regional leader. This role will be headquartered in Roswell, GA.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing and improving the Revenue Cycle department and infrastructure a growing healthcare organization. The successful candidate will possess outstanding interpersonal skills and build a high-functioning team. This role requires someone with a high EQ, the ability to be firm and the ability to maintain long-term relationships with important vendors. This will require a broad diversity of skills to include revenue cycle management, accounting, reporting, and analysis.

Industry expertise in the healthcare-provider arena is required. Experience in a Personal Injury healthcare organization or law firm is highly desired.

Job Responsibilities:

The Director of Revenue Cycle will manage and report all billing and collections functions while leading 5+ Billing Managers and their team of 8+ under them. 

  • Responsible for maintaining HIPAA compliance for multiple entities and locations
  • Plan and organize department meetings focused on collaboration and process improvement
  • Ensure that the registration, pre-certification, and referrals are processed accurately and timely manner resulting in an increased likelihood of payments.
  • Participate in Accounts Receivable month-end process and monthl
  • Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary action in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop process improvements and best practices across multiple entities
  • Coordinate compliance audits quarterly resulting in accurate claims and coding.
  • Review and discuss, with CFO, bad debt/write-offs on a monthly basis.
  • Review and analyze KPIs for trend and variance analysis reporting to CFO
  • Maintain law firm relationships through customer service and reporting
  • Look for areas of automation and ensure best use of IT and billing systems

Requirements:

  • Accounting, Finance or Business degree preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/ HCPCS coding, related third-party requirements, and impact on revenue generation.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge and background in charge entry, coding and billing preferably within health system setting.
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external clients.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous experience managing A/R aging, KPI benchmarking, and overall continued RCM process improvement for physician practice models.
  • Extensive understanding of CMS, local, and commercial billing rules & regulations.
  • Experience or exposure to Personal Injury healthcare a big plus
  • Strong, in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle management principles and practices, including medical billing, coding, collections, managed care products, regulatory compliance, payer credentialing, and financial reporting.
  • Previous front to back RMC experiences a must.
  • Solid financial management skills including, trending, benchmarking, and overall AR performance.
