Installer / RF Technician - Mobile / Construction

Key Responsibilities & Functions:

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, discuss, and resolve wireless communication equipment questions and problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner
    • Perform required diagnostic and analytical tests to diagnose and repair wireless communication equipment.
    • Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results and use to repair and program radios and wireless equipment.
    • Work with customer to determine deadlines, urgency, timeline, and schedule of completing repairs, maintenance, and programming with customers, vendors, and shop management to ensure resolution of problem meets customer's needs.
    • Perform wireless communications system programming, per industry practices and vendor criteria.
    • Performs the installation of radio and wireless mobile and base communications systems per industry practices and vendor criteria.

Installer Responsiblities

    • Experience working in an auto body shop
    • Experience installing car stereo and electronic equipment highly preferred
    • Experience removing the interior trim of vehicles
    • Basic understanding of electrical theory and low-voltage electronics

Non-Essential Functions:

    • Maintains cleanliness and maintenance of any company vehicle.
    • Fill out and complete time sheets, job tickets, data entry
    • Retrieving parts from warehouse for repairs and maintenance.
    • Lifting boxes, tools, computers, service monitors, and other shop equipment.

Education and/or Experience:

    • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or vocational school in electronics and wireless system repair is preferred but not required.

    • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of related work experience in electronic communications repair is required (preferably with 2-way radios, transmitters, receivers, antennas); OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF Theory as it applies to wireless communications.

Licenses, Certifications:

    • Valid Driver’s License
    • ** Clean Driving Record is required ** (Major infractions are a disqualifier. ex: DUI, any drug motor vehicle offence, hit & run, reckless driving infractions, driving while suspended, passing a stopped school bus, involvement in a fatal accident, or 3 or more minor infractions within 3 year period)
