PrimeSource Building Products, Inc., one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of building supply products, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor in our Joliet, IL location to focus on Operation relations in our warehouse located in Buffalo Grove, IL. Our current facility is currently located in Buffalo Grove, IL area and we are moving to a new location in Joliet, IL in February 2020. This is a 50+ miles commute one-way so ideal candidates would not mind the commute from the Buffalo Grove location to Joliet location next year.

Looking for candidates with MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook), distribution with some logistics experience and Building Supply knowledge and SAP experience is a Plus!
We are looking for a true hands-on Leader that leads by example with a no job is too small or too big attitude. Organization and communication are key to performing this job successfully. This role will supervise the warehouse staff of about 9 employees. Must have the ability to train, coach and develop warehouse staff. Must be able to maintain the current level of efficiency in warehouse and make improvements as necessary. Knowledge of SAP is helpful, but will train. Warehouse management experience, preferred.

This position directs and coordinates activities of warehouse workers engaged in receiving and distributing building material products by performing the following duties. Additional duties may be assigned as needed:
Directly supervises employees in the Warehouse.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
Planning, assigning, and directing work.
Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
Plans layout of warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
Responsible for assisting in periodic cycle counting of inventory and schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
Issues written and oral instructions.
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to all company policies and procedures.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve safety and efficiency of subordinates.
Maintains harmony among workers and to assist in resolving grievances.
Helps prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
Works with dedicated carriers for efficient and safe routing of delivery trucks.
Responsible for coordinating will call orders in safe and service friendly manner.
Responsible for the maintaining and caring for company owned or leased equipment.
Accountable to DC warehouse overtime review and management.
This position is responsible for maintaining and enforcing all company procedures, policies and practices.
We are seeking candidates with the following.
At least 4 years of experience in a supervisor role in the Warehouse.
7 Years experience in warehousing
Experienced with a Warehouse Management System is a must.
SAP experience Required
Microsoft, Power Point, Excel preferred
Must be goal oriented
Forklift Certified a plus
Must be able to multi-task
Customer Service experience helpful
50 lb minimum lifting requirement.

Successful candidates will have at least a two year degree or at least five years of Supervisory experience. Strong leadership and managerial skills, able to motivate and lead a team of warehouse and delivery personnel and be computer literate. Logistic background is a plus. Knowledge of the building materials industry is a major plus. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word Processing software. SAP helpful.
Valid Driver's License required.
