Location: Clermont County, 45244

Hours: Seasonal, 40 hours per week/42 weeks per year

Salary: $13.30-$15.24

The Family Advocate’s primary role is to work closely with a team and the community to engage families in promoting children’s school readiness. 

This position has the unique ability to support families in their roles as their child’s primary educator, encourage parent/child interaction and enhance family well-being. 

Additionally the position includes, recruiting and enrolling children into Head Start, organizing parent groups and facilitate trainings, and working within the community in developing family engagement strategies.

Education Requirements: AA degree in Social Services or related field, Bachelors Preferred
Experience:  2 years with families of young children.

The candidate will be able to work well within teams, is knowledgeable of community resources and family engagement principles.

Child Focus, Inc. (CFI) directly served 12,827 children, families and adults in FY 2016.  Celebrating forty years this year, our private, not-for-profit 501c(3) agency, its 320 staff, 947 volunteers and 35 foster families help provide a broad range of early learning, mental health and foster care services.

With an agency budget of over $16 million dollars, the spectrum of services includes outpatient individual, family and group therapy, diagnostic testing, psychiatric services, partial hospitalization, mental health prevention and treatment services in schools, mobile crisis, management of a county-wide 24-hour crisis hotline (528-SAVE), parenting education and support, foster care, independent living and Life Skills preparation, family stability, Head Start and early learning programs for children ages prenatal to Kindergarten, before and after school programs for K-5, community programs and professional training.

CFI provides these services in over 90 schools, pediatric and FQHC offices, juvenile court, Job and Family Services, other community locations and in hundreds of homes in 16 southwest and southeast Ohio communities including Clermont, Brown, Butler, Hamilton, Adams, Highland, Clinton and Warren counties.   In addition to serving the Greater Cincinnati area, Child Focus community programs and trainings, including school violence and bullying prevention, reach tri-state and national markets.
