Essential Duties And Responsibilities :
  • Required to perform full dimensional layouts of ISIR parts leading to PPAP submissions for both New product launches, as well as Annual PPAP
  • Equipment use will include calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, video optical equipment, CMM, ohmmeters, indicators and height
  • Attend weekly Engineering & APQP meetings to establish PPAP requirements, and criteria for PPAP
  • Independent blueprint interpretation including full knowledge of GD&T
  • Assists Manufacturing, Tooling and Engineering as appropriate to resolve issues such as non-conformances and trends in inspection data (when PPAP activity is low).
  • Assists in identifying and isolating nonconforming product (when PPAP activity is low).
  • Maintains accurate and up to date Quality PPAP records and retained PPAP
  • Assists in associate training in product testing and inspection as well as established quality system
  • Investigating customer, as well as internal complaints regarding Quality (when PPAP activity is low).
  • Visual inspection of product to established criteria, both standard and part
  • Any other QC Engineering tasks as
Expectations
  • Full understanding of Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control
  • Completion of all requirements per the AIAG PPAP Process Inspection Plans & Print Requirements, PPAP
  • Functional & Working Knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 Standard & ITAR
  • CMM (PCDMIS), Smartscope (OGP) programming
  • Perform PPAP layouts, GR&R, Capability Studies using Minitab statistic software, & other software
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, Excel, Access,

Conditions
  • On-going feedback to supervisor
  • It is expected that PPAP Engineer play an active role in the daily operations of the manufacturing Quality functions (When PPAP activity is low).
  • Proactive & Cooperative
  • Successful completion Competency Review with passing score of 90% or better

(Testing prior to 89 th day is acceptable, but for continued employment can not exceed 90 days after job award)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

Required

  • One year related manufacturing
  • Two years quality Engineering technician level
  • Metal Stamping, Plastic injection molding industry preferred.
  • Understanding of quality APQP & PPAP systems required.
  • CMM (PCDMIS), Smartscope (OGP) programming knowledge, and use of Calipers, Micrometers, Comparators, Indicators, Hardness
  • Full knowledge of SPC, GR&R criteria and
  • Use of Minitab Statistical
  • Full use of Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • CMM (PCDMIS), Smartscope (OGP) programming knowledge.
  • Use of Minitab Statistical
LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Required

Candidate must be able to communicate effectively, including reading and writing, in English.

  • Follow verbal and written instructions given in English.
  • Read Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, & Control
  • Maintain appropriate PPAP records, &
  • Proper documentation of all quality related functions
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Required

Basic math required, ie: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication. As well as any common facility practices for production associates as defined /outlined in Employee Handbook.
