Accounts Payable Clerk

SUMMARY

Perform accounts payable functions including, but not limited to, daily review of US mail and electronic mail for distribution; scan invoices for document separation and indexing; manage and maintain AP filing system; match checks to back up for mailing; answer supplier invoice inquiries and supplier statement review. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with all Management System policies and procedures
  • Scan invoices for documentation separation and indexing
  • Review checks generated for accuracy prior to distribution and mailing
  • Pull back up for payment generations for check runs
  • Match back up to check copies for filing
  • Apply GL coding standard invoices
  • Maintain AP filing system
  • Statement review
  • Answer vendor calls and inquiries
  • Open U.S. mail and electrical mail for sorting and distribution
  • Provide reports and invoice documentation as necessary
  • Complete all other assignments made by management

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) 

To perform the duties of this job, the employee must have good interpersonal skills; be patient and tactful; display an enthusiastic, cooperative and friendly attitude at all times with managers/supervisors, co-workers, visitors, customers and clients.

·         Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 1 or more years of experience of related accounting experience and/or training.

Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel software.

Strong ability to multi-task along with strong customer service skills.
