The selected candidates will manage and ensure that construction of assigned work is completed in accordance with owner approved plans and specifications through frequent site inspections. Performs substantial completion and final inspections of completed work.
Represents the Project Manager with the responsibility to ensure that systems are constructed within schedule and thoroughly coordinated with operational departments to ensure minimal impact on operations.
Maintain and monitor the performance of the project against the KPIs established for both the Project Work and the Project Quality Plan and provide reports to the management team as required.
Reviews plans and specifications for construction purposes; advises various or required owner offices and consultants of required design changes, as applicable.
Reviews inspection procedures for conformance with established procedures.
Reviews and recommends approval of requests for payment from contractors and others for work in place. Supports and assists the project Safety Manager and the project Quality Manager in the enforcement of safety and quality compliance.
Attends or conducts project coordination meetings and quality meetings with each discipline involved as needed to ensure effective project control.
4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field as well as 5+ years of experience in field construction is required. Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or communications infrastructure projects is preferred.
Ability to effectively participate in change order negotiations and claim determinations.
Requires a working knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the potential for performing in a lead capacity on a project.
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
